nWire 1.2 is Released: PHP Support is here!

nWire for PHP
nWire for Java

nWire version 1.2 is released today. In this version, nWire is split into two products: nWire for Java (the original nWire) and nWire for PHP. This is the first offering for the PHP community and we thank all those who supported us and tested our beta versions. Our Java users will also benefit from this version with the new Smart Focus mode and many small enhancements.

You can read the full release notes here. The user guide has been updated with useful information and it is also available online here.

The development of nWire for PHP was done with support from the Zend Studio team. Zend Studio is a powerful PHP development environment on top of Eclipse PDT. It is as essential tool for PHP developers working on large scale applications, much like nWire. There is a natural association between the two tools..

We also updated our web site to reflect the new distinction between the two nWire products. Be sure to check out our new introduction video. However, this is still the same nWire core. Both nWire for Java and PHP can be installed in the same IDE and work together for developers doing both PHP and Java development. We have a special offer for both products, check out our virtual shop for more details.

nWire for PHP goes on sale!

nWire for PHP is currently undergoing the last testing phases and it will be released early next week along with some major changes to our web site. In the mean while, our online shop has been updated with the new product offering.

The new product retails for $59. We are also offering a combined license of nWire for Java and PHP for $99. The two products are working perfectly together and can be installed on the same Eclipse instance (naturally, you will need both PDT and JDT). Users who purchased nWire before version 1.2 may add the PHP support for $40. Just contact our sales team and we will send you a special coupon for this upgrade.

Welcome to the nWire Forums!

Our new forums are up and running, you may access them at forum.nwiresoftware.com. We started with a simple structure of just a few forums and we will expand it once we get more traffic. We encourage you to post any question or comment regarding nWire.

Up until now, we were using the Get Satisfaction forums. We will still be using Get Satisfaction to answer questions, but we are looking for a more flexible and personalized environment to host our discussions. The traffic over at Get Satisfaction was low anyway and we hope to see more traffic in our new forums. As always, comments and suggestions are welcome.

See you in our forum.

Our Users' Community is Open at GetSatisfaction

We take customer service very seriously. It is something we believe in. We are not a big company with a support help desk, that is true. However, that also means you will get the service from people who care. People who know the product like the back of their hand.

As part of this effort, we decided to host our users' forum at GetSatisfaction. It provides everything you want from a forum and a lot more. Here's a few key features which are unique to GetSatisfaction:

  • It has a great search capabilities. You start typing your question and it immediately suggests answers.
  • You can categorize your post: question, idea, problem or just praise.
  • If supports multiple products and tags. It is very intuitive and easy to filter the forum and see only the interesting bit
  • It provides a cool feedback widget which appears at the edge of this page and enables painless feedback posting. We will incorporate feedback capabilities in nWire as well.

We invite you all to join the discussions at GetSatisfaction.
