Install nWire using Update Manager

Installing nWire using the Eclipse™ Update Manager

Installing using the online update site requires a working internet connection. If you are not connected, please see the offline installation instructions.

Important Note to Windows 7 & Vista Users: If Eclipse is installed under the Program Files folder, the installation of plugins may fail. Please read this post for more details.

Installing nWire on Eclipse Helios (3.6), Galileo (3.5) and Zend Studio 7.x

Before you install, please make sure:

  • For nWire for Java: Java Development Tools (JDT) is installed.
  • For nWire for PHP: PHP Development Tools (PDT) 2.1 or later installed. Zend Studio versions prior to 7.0 are not supported.
  1. In Eclipse, select Help → Install New Software
  2. On the Available Software tab, select Add Site...
  3. In the Work With field, type the URL: http://update.nwiresoftware.com/
  4. Expand the tree node for the site and select the check box for the desired features: nWire For PHP and/or nWire For Java (both can be installed in the same Eclipse instance).
  5. Optionally: uncheck the Contact all update sites during install option option. You may leave it on, but it may cause Eclipse to install more software which will take more time.
  6. Click the Next > button, and follow the instructions in the installation wizard to accept the licensing agreement
  7. Once the process is complete, you will be asked to restart your Eclipse

Installing nWire on Eclipse Ganymede (3.4)

Before you install, please make sure:

  • For nWire for Java: Java Development Tools (JDT) is installed.
  • For nWire for PHP: Not supported on Eclipse 3.4. Please upgrade to Eclipse 3.5 with PDT 2.1.
  1. In Eclipse, select Help → Software Updates
  2. On the Available Software tab, select Add Site...
  3. Enter the URL: http://update.nwiresoftware.com/
  4. Expand the tree node for the site and select the check box for the nWire for Java
  5. Click the Install button, this may take a some time
  6. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard to accept the licensing agreement
  7. Once the process is complete, you will be asked to restart your Eclipse
